Growth-oriented, cross-border thinking.

Thierry “Terry” Birles (born 1988) is an Oxford & Paris (Assas) educated shipping, marine and admiralty advisor and consultant to Fortune 500 & listed corporations’ board of directors, focusing on promoting growth and cross-border deal-making as well as market penetration in Asia, the Caribbean & Latin America.

With over fifteen years of experience advising high net worth entrepreneurs and corporations, Terry Birles believes in promoting business across borders in a smart and tax efficient way.

From the concept “everything is legal somewhere on Earth” to using jurisdictions’ legal and tax framework differences to the benefit of international investors, Terry’s approach relies on strong cultural knowledge of the region where the project takes place as well as a thinking-outside-the-box vision to find opportunities where others may see risk.

Terry can advise in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Korean and Chinese and is a fellow of the International Bar Association as a non-practicing Qualified Professional (Membership No. 2989521).

Terry Birles has been featured in Forbes Magazine, Business Insider and other publications of similar international business renown, and is a regular contributor to selected nautical publications, one of the editors of The Yachtsman Rag, a lecturer and an after-dinner guest speaker.
